Terms & Policies
WE GUARANTEE THE QUALITY OF OUR FLOORING
TONGUE & GROOVE, BACK RELIEF, 3/4", KILN-DRIED TO 6-10% MCL
Unless otherwise requested, all flooring is provided tongue and groove, back relief and 3/4�? thickness. We kiln dry our own wood to a 6-10% moisture content level.
END-MATCHING: If end-matching is required, add $10.00/sf. Typically this should be done on-site.
SAMPLES: CHARGES, SHIPPING & APPLIED TOWARDS ORDERS
Samples of our fine woods are available upon request at minimal costs.
SHIP-LAP, SURFACED ALSO AVAILABLE
At no extra cost, we can also mill your planks in either a ship-lap cut or surfaced on four sides.
NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to commence any order. We apologize for any inconvenience but because our products are custom orders and our woods hold such historical value, it is policy to require the deposit before any work may begin.
CHANGES ALLOWED UP TO 2 WEEKS
Although a non-refundable deposit, we allow changes to species, widths and other dimensions as long as they are made within two (2) weeks of the date of deposit.
SQUARE FOOTAGE
We can calculate for you - we simply request a set of plans or accurate room dimensions. Time and effort charges may apply. If you calculate square footage, a special waiver is required, and waste consideration will be discussed.
WASTAGE
For Antique Wood, please add an additional 15% over net measurements for cutting and fitting. For Old Growth Wood, please add 10%. For New Country Wood and Specialty Wood, please add 5% for planks up to 8" widths and 10% for all widths over 8". Any questions, please ask.
LEAD TIMES
Lead times are as indicated. However, we will strive to meet your shorter deadlines. We highly encourage not waiting until the last minute to order your flooring.
MINIMUM PURCHASE
Minimum purchase of 250 square feet of flooring and raw material or additional $250.00 charge may apply. Other products do not apply.
ORDERING SHORT
If insufficient amount of material was ordered, discounts reflected in original order may not be applied to subsequent order. If additional material needed is under 250 sf, a set-up & rush fee of $250.00 will be applied. These charges are meant to deter clients from ordering insufficient amounts of material to complete their project: The cost to interrupt normal mill operations to mill small amounts of material is not cost efficient and highly disruptive. We highly recommend not ordering short material.

Certain products are subject to availability of raw materials. Due to unpredictable obstacles such as weather and agricultural variables, prices are subject to change. When applicable, these will be discussed upon initial product inquiry. Any questions, please inquire.
INSTALLATION
We strongly suggest an experienced wood flooring professional for all flooring installations, especially antique. NJ/NY/PA residents: Referrals to our local highly experienced associates upon request. If you intend to install yourself, please take advantage of our skill and expertise. We will provide you with pointers and guidance along the way.
PAYMENT METHODS
Deposits accepted in cash, personal or business check. Sorry, but we do not accept credit cards. Final balances are accepted either by cash upon delivery (COD charges may apply), bank check upon delivery (COD charges may apply), personal check 5 days prior to delivery, or out-of-state checks 10 days prior to delivery.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Local deliveries are provided by an AWPF fleet vehicle - please inquire. Otherwise, common carrier shipping arrangements are provided by AWPF, unfortunately cost is incurred by client. Costs vary according to distance and weight, more information upon request. COD charges may apply. Crating costs will apply as well.
NOT READY FOR DELIVERY?
If not ready for material by end of lead time, a monthly storage fee will be assessed and collectable at time of delivery as follows: 3% for orders under $7,500, 5% for orders $7,500 to $15,000 and 7% for orders over $15,000, per month. If remaining balance is paid at time of completion, however, these charges will be waived.
STAINS & FINISHES
Our products are provided unstained and unfinished. We strongly recommend taking one of your planks to try out different stains and finishes prior to installation. We recommend common industry solvent-based stains. Water-based stains are clear and do not add or bring out the wood’s patina. We recommend matte or satin solvent- or water-based urethane finishes. We do not recommend tung oil, especially when installing yourself - we feel it clashes with the integrity of the wood, has very poor durability, is very difficult to find and is too great a safety risk. It’s so dangerous, it’s actually illegal in a number of states! You can get the same look with waxes, which are much more user friendly, can be found at any local hardware store and are much lower in cost. Keep in mind though that waxes and oils will require touching-up and repairs every few months. For more information, please inquire or ask your installer.
ON-SITE MEASURING AND TAKE-OFFS
For a representative of AASW to measure on-site, a charge of $75.00/hour. For plan take-offs, a charge of $25.00/room will apply. These charges are payable at time services are rendered. When orders are placed, these charges are applied to outstanding lances.
